The IUIS-Brazil Advanced Course of Vaccines is an immersion course on advanced topics and current research on multiple aspects of vaccine development, including discovery, preclinical development, upscaling, manufacturing, clinical trials, and regulatory issues.
Audience: selected graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and early career scientists doing research in the vaccine area, mostly from Latin American countries.
Students will be selected according to analysis of their application, and some of them will be awarded with travel and hotel expenses.
The Advanced course will take place at the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil from Dec 11-15, 2017. It is sponsored by the iii - Instituto de Investigação em Imunologia/INCT, IUIS - International Union of Immunogical Societies, ALAI - Latin American Association on Immunological societies, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Universidade de São Paulo and SBI- Brazilian Society of Immunology.
One of the main targets of the course will be to foster interactions between students and faculty, which will happen during poster presentations where students will discuss their results, preparation of faculty-guided projects to be developed by students along the course, and discussion sessions.
The course will include lectures, discussion sessions, student poster presentations, and preparation of faculty-guided projects by the students. The course will also provide review material on their topics to be posted at Immunopaedia, an IUIS-supported website with basic and clinical immunology content (http://www.immunopaedia.org.za/immunology/).
ENGLISH is the official language of the Course. The venue will be at Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil.
